All COMCORE COVERS are tested according to a protocol developed by the Georgia Institute of Technology. This protocol is for the testing and evaluation of all composite access covers. It recognizes that metals and composites have different characteristics, therefore requires different procedures for their testing and evaluation.
The Georgia Tech Testing Protocol for Composite Covers (COA/RG-99-1-1) replaces a single PROOF LOAD test with STATIC LOAD testing, SUSTAINED LOAD testing and FATIGUE LOAD testing. Since the Protocol focuses on performance specifications, it can be used to evaluate any composite cover.
This Protocol can be obtained from the Georgia Tech School of Architecture, Utilities Products, Inc. or any other manufacturer that makes use of its procedures.
